Capital City becomes Lakeside's 7th Location

Milwaukee, Wisconsin (December, 22, 2010) - Early last week, Lakeside International Trucks acquired Capital City International in Madison, WI, giving the largest medium and heavy-duty truck dealership in southern Wisconsin an even larger footprint to service its customers. This purchase is Lakeside's third in the last five years and will be the 7th location for the company.

Lakeside will continue to operate the Madison dealership under the Capital City name, believing there is strong brand equity and name recognition that follows their 28 years of market presence. All of the 40 Capital City employees will remain with the dealership. And similar to previous dealership acquisitions, Lakeside is solidly focused and sees great opportunity to further expand the business in Madison.

Despite recent economic conditions across the country, Lakeside has experienced an increase in business across its 6-dealerships in Wisconsin. The acquisition of Madison which will be followed closely by the pending acquisition of the Rockford, Ill. dealership in early January 2011 puts Lakeside in a strong position to expand its employee base. Currently, Lakeside is currently working to fill more than 30 positions across all dealership locations, including anticipated needs in the new Rockford and Madison markets. These positions include service technicians, parts, truck and lease sales and management roles.

With the purchase of Capital City, Lakeside will now be serving businesses across the southern region of the state of Wisconsin. Their locations now stretch from Lake Michigan, as far west as Grant County, just east of the Mississippi River, as far north as the Wisconsin Dells and south as far as Esmond, Ill. – 30 miles south of Rockford, Ill.

In addition to making strategic acquisitions over the last 7 years; Lakeside continues to invest in its people and technology. Just this month, in response to customer needs in southern WI to meet government clean air requirements and keep equipment running at peak performance, Lakeside has invested in the FSX Diesel Particulate Filter Cleaning System. This service will be offered beginning in early January 2011.
